Camp units 1/2

So the camp is literally ran like any other prison camp. Small cubes, 2 to 3 men per cube. The living quarters are a little tight being that there is over 150 men in these units at all time. Like any other prison t.v. is a privilege, but similar to other institutions you have to be privileged to have a spot in the t.v. room. Now paperwork is not a mandatory thing here. What I mean by that is normally you show your case documents, sentencing transcript minutes, court docket transcript and judgement of commitment.

This will let other inmates know if you did or didn't cooperate with the government. In other words "snitch", "rat people out". This is mainly required in other institutions like usp, mediums and lows. But at this camp it really just comes down to who you are, who you know and hoe long you been down. But don't be fooled, there are ways for inmates to find out your case situation.

Ok so like any other prison there are things going on that shouldn't. But the is the classic case of the inmates making due for what they have lost privileges to and if they get caught there are consequences. But in this prison, they have a Unicor facility that recycles electronics.

Now here the cops , c.o.'s have open market to there very own best buy. This Unicor facility receives trailer loads of government property , mainly electronics like flat screen t.v.s, laptops, iPads a shit load of other items. Here the correctional officers invite themselves to all the electronics they can take. Pull your car right up and take home what you want. But how do they get in trouble? They don't!. This is only the beginning of how Lewisburg is run on the camp side.

Now here is what needs to be pointed out. We will get to all the corruption little by little but I am also looking for those who have been in Lewisburg camp and can share there story.

The government gives the bop a budget, well the DOJ, department of Justice. Part of that is for the prison microwaves, tv's and more. In Lewisburg that is not the case, all the t.v.'s that camp has comes from Unicor, every microwave comes from Unicor. Not a single Tv nor microwave is brand new. If one breaks they go up and get another one. So the question is, where is this money going to if they save on spending ?

There was another scandal in this camp not to long before I left. It was the mismanagement of the budget from the kitchen administrator officer Ramirez. Who also happens to be the husband of Dr. Ramirez who runs the Rdap program in Lewisburg. We will get to her later.

This man, screwed up the budget by buying a shit load of items that's they are still eating. Taking away from the inmates what is to be served as the national menu. When I was there the protein that is served is no where near the 4oz that needs to be served. You get a lot of carbs but there is only shredded chicken in a cup on Thursdays. Instead of the chicken thigh. They claim its because the USP uses the bone for shanks but come on really. There is close to 500 inmates in the camp.

According to the officers in the kitchen, Ramirez try to line his pocket by buying items in bulk. Taking away from the inmates and national menu. Now these are not facts but what are facts is that the inmates in Lewisburg  do not eat right. There was no vegetables like onions and peppers for a whole quarter due to Ramirez screw up. As a result they did have alot of potatoes. The point is this place and probably many other places have issues that need to be addressed. The ones who suffer are the inmates and trust me the officers do not care for them. Most are racist and this is a fact. The 3 most racist officers are Officer shirk, officer Nef and officer Rogers.

I will write more about the on my next post.
